How The University of Wisconsin, Superior Addressed Gaps in Student Support
The University of Wisconsin, Superior implemented Mentor Collective's software and services to develop meaningful peer connections, foster sense of belonging and drive student retention.
Students participating in the program retained at higher rates than non-participants, and administrative staff gained actionable students insights that were unattainable from predictive analytics alone.
We’re thinking about our resources through the lens of the students’ collegiate experience and how different centers and experts link together in a coherent way. Mentor Collective is giving us one of many threads to string it all together and get students the support they need when they need it.”
Dr. Maria Cuzzo, Provost, University of Wisconsin, Superior
One of our first-year bridge program students signed up for Mentor Collective and expressed to their mentor two times throughout the semester that he was struggling with note taking, test taking, and other study habits. When I brought the flags to the bridge program coordinator, she was in awe because she said the student had always told her that everything was fine. It speaks to how students have more comfortability expressing challenges to their peers. That student’s mentor wound up meeting with them one on one and directing them to school resources.”
